Nick Duke

Nick was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia a small university town nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Throughout his childhood, he spent a lot of time sailing and boating with his family around the east end of Long Island and the Bahamas. After attending Elon University in NC, he worked in the communications, advertising and luxury travel sectors before moving into the yachting industry. 

Nick joined the industry in 2009 and worked as crew on board several private and charter yachts up to 258’ for a little over five years, traveling extensively through the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mediterranean. He completed eight transatlantic crossings, which helped him acquire a 200 Ton Yachtmaster license and complete several Officer of the Watch modules.

After working as a crew, Nick joined Burgess Yachts in January 2014, working in the Miami office. He began his first shore based position in the Yacht Management department and was then moved into Charter Management as a Junior Charter Manager.

Following his time at Burgess, he spent the last three years as a Charter Manager at IYC. Nick managed twelve of their US based charter fleet yachts, which cruised and chartered in the Bahamas, Florida, and New England. 

These experiences have given Nick a valuable foundation of knowledge in the yachting industry, making him a unique asset to the Denison family. Complementing this, Nick brings a wealth of in-depth Charter Management experience and will be working to facilitate the management of the current charter fleet as well as develop relationships to secure new Charter Management yachts. 

Nick is an active member of IYBA and Young Professionals in Yachting and currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
